is committed to protecting the privacy of those accessing its site. The
purpose of this policy is to inform our site visitors about the collection and
use of information. It was created to meet the requirements of Arkansas
Act 1713 of 2003.
Simply stated, our policy is to collect no personal
information about you when you visit our site, unless you affirmatively choose
to make such information available to us when submitting an Incident Report or
registering for training.
This World Wide Web (WWW) site is provided as a public service by the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM). This Internet privacy policy statement is a description of ADEM's current practices and shall not be construed as a contractual undertaking. ADEM reserves the right to amend its Internet Privacy Policy and this statement at any time without notice. This policy is valid for one day from the time that it is loaded by a client. ADEM's privacy and public records obligations are governed solely by applicable Arkansas statutes, including, but not limited to, the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (25-19-101 et all) and any applicable United States federal laws.

When you come to this web site to browse, our Web server automatically
recognizes only the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed the
site. This information does not result in the identification of any
personally-identifiable information. In addition, information is only
gathered regarding the volume and timing of access to the site by collecting
information on the date, time and pages you visited while at the site.
This government computer system uses industry-standard software to create
summary statistics, which are used for such things as assessing what information
is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and
identifying system performance or problem areas so that the content of and
functionality of our site can be improved. We use the information we
collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site,
and to help us make our pages more useful to visitors. This information is only
used internally, does not contain personal identifiers, and will only be used
for internal management purposes.
No other attempts are made to identify
individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other
purposes.
Where identifying information is required of you (to report an
incident, etc.) that information is used only for completing the service
requested and is not used for other purposes. It is treated no differently
than information provided to our agency in person, and is subject to the same
controls and uses.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this
service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs
industry-standard methods to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized
attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause
damage.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information
on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer
Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986, or the Computer-Related Crimes provisions under
Arkansas law, Ark. Code Ann. 5-41-101 et seq.
Simply stated: We
will never deliver to or sell your information to outside parties.
However, please be aware that as a public agency, under the Arkansas Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA), any records in the possession of ADEM may be subject to
being inspected by or disclosed to members of the public for any purpose they
may desire, unless specifically exempted by law.
The State of Arkansas, the Department of Emergency Management, or any of its employees, shall not be held liable for any improper or incorrect use of the information described and/or contained herein and assumes no responsibility for anyone's use of the information. In no event shall the Department or its employees be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, procurement or substitute goods or services; loss of use, data, or profits; or business interruption) however caused and on any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability, or tort (including negligence or otherwise) arising in any way out of the use of this system, even if advised of the possibility of such damage. ADEM provides links to many web sites that are not controlled, maintained or
regulated by ADEM. These include links to web sites operated by other government
agencies, nonprofit organizations and private businesses. When you link to
another site, you are no longer on ADEM's web site and this Privacy Policy will
not apply. When you link to another web site, you are subject to the privacy
policy of that new site.
The Department is not responsible for the
contents of any off-site pages referenced. The user specifically acknowledges
that the Department is not liable for the defamatory, offensive, or illegal
conduct of other users, links, or third parties and that the risk of injury from
