INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

The Information Technology Division aids in the direction and control of agency resources.  Arkansas Acts 511, 687, 646 provide for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management to:

  • Operate and maintain information systems.

  • Establish additional information systems as deemed necessary by the Director.

The Information Technology Division provides coordination, guidance, technical assistance, and resources to local, state, and federal agencies on matters related to technology systems and/or their reestablishment during times of disaster.  The Division is made up of the following branches:

  • System Administration Branch which is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and implementation of information technology.
  • The Communications Branch which is responsible for the staffing the 24/7 Communications Center and mobile command vehicle.
  • The Telecommunications Branch that maintains all radios, phones, and Audio/Visual equipment.
  • The Property Management Branch is responsible for the accountability of all equipment and inventory control.
  • The Maintenance Branch maintains the facility, grounds, and all agency vehicles.
