The mission of Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through
education, training and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger
and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health
issues and disasters of all kinds.

Citizen Corps Council Responsibilities
Creating an action plan to involve the community in prevention,
preparedness and response activities and to mobilize the community in a
large-scale event.
Door-to-Door Notifications
Physical Labor
Identifying ways in which the community's volunteer resources can help meet
the needs of its first responders.
Authenticate Identity
Authenticate capabilities/skills
Organizing special projects and community events to promote Citizen Corps
activities and recruiting volunteers to participate.
Set up a fire extinguisher display at a county fair
Put together a CERT directory
Issue "Spot Cards", thank you cards
Issue brochures in a pre-staging area at concerts
